For over 85 years Birmingham Law School has made a major contribution to teaching and scholarship. The Juris Doctor (JD) seeks to provide the academic knowledge and skills needed to embark upon a career as a practising lawyer but also was created in the knowledge that not all graduates want, or are able, to work as barristers or solicitors. The JD is available entirely online, in external mode enabling you to balance your study with other commitments, and study from anywhere. Each topic comprises six tasks scheduled across the semester to guide your learning. Assessment is undertaken entirely online using video conferencing and other virtual collaboration tools. The JD offers an innovative model of postgraduate education.
